Q: Do Bump Keys really work.
A: There has been a lot of talk in
the news lately about the use of Bump Keys, and how it is so simple
to open any lock using them.
Do Bump Keys exist? Yes they do and many Locksmiths do use them.
Can anyone use Bump Keys? Yes but not anyone can get them.
Locksmiths use many different tools to gain entry in to someone's Home, Office, Automobile, ect. These tools are sold ONLY to Locksmiths, Security Professionals and Government Agencies. Being in possession of any one of these tools with out the proper credentials can and will land you in jail.
There are many web sites that talk and show you how to make and use Bump Keys. There have also been many news broadcast that have shown the ease and use of Bump Keys.
Can anyone make a Bump Key? NO, Bump Keys are made on a special machine that allows a Locksmith to cut keys by code. A Bump Key has to be cut with in certain tolerances in order for it to work correctly. You can not just get a key blank from your local hardware store and file out a Bump Key.
